{The Me and Mine Project} 2016 May

May, you took a looonnnggg time to arrive as after booking our Summer holiday back at the start of the year we have been counting down the days! A whole week away in Spain, close to Barcelona, with plenty of sunshine and beach time. Just what we all needed, a week away from the hum drum of work, pre-school and house work! I managed to go on a hen do and be child free (for almost) a whole day. Potty training has also been on all our minds this month and hopefully we have pretty much cracked it! (phew)

Our photo this month had to be on holiday and I absolutely love these, we all look so happy and relaxed and the blue flowers look beautiful. We took this late one afternoon when we visited some pretty gardens up on the cliff top, it was just very relaxing and we found a beach cove we could see over the cliff that we visited the next day, a little gem!

I am loving this month: sunny day adventures, a whole week away as a family, eating buffet breakfast for a whole week, our new camera, wearing flip flops everyday, finding out my friend is pregnant, going to Creative Caterpillars every week with little D, feeling proud of D’s potty training achievements.

Mr H is Loving: basking in the sunshine at home & on holiday, messing around with snapchat filters, buying little D toys as rewards, finally getting a chance to read a book (well… half a book) on holiday, wearing shorts all the time, not wearing socks….

Little D is loving:  swimming in her new float jacket, eating bucket loads of ice-cream, getting stickers for potty training, reading Sally and the Limpet, wearing sandals everyday, playing in the garden lots, eating lots of raisins, making sand castles at the beach.

Litte F is loving: any toys with wheels to spin, eating EVERYTHING, trying to commando crawl backwards, being tickled behind the knees and toes, standing and giggling with Daddy, shouting very loud, clicking his tongue especially when enjoying his food!

{The Ordinary Moments}#22 ‘Crabbing & Ice-cream’

We only came back from our holiday on Wednesday and lucky for us it has been a bank holiday this weekend, and unsually for us a lovely, warm bank holiday. The whole weekend has had such a Summery, relaxed feel to it and we have managed to do so much and still spend lots of time just relaxing in the garden. We’ve managed to squeeze in a beer garden lunch, an inlaws visit, swimming lessons, lunch with Grandma, crabbing off the pontoon, a beach trip, lots of ice-cream and nicely topped off with a Dominoes this evening! I feel work and new nursery settling in is going to hit us hard tomorrow, down to Earth with a big bump.

I love these photos of the little man eating his lunch at Grandmas, he managed to eat nearly a whole sandwich by himself, super impressive for 8 months.

As we were walking down to the pontoon little D found some dandelion clocks, and I took these gorgeous photos of her trying her hardest to blow them. I adore her watermelon jumper in these too, so bright and summery!

Crabbing is serious business, love how these two are both so consumed by it!

{The Ordinary Moments}#21 ‘An extraordinary week in Spain’

My last week’s ordinary moments are going up a little late this week as we have had an amazing week away in sunny Spain and as anyone with young children knows the washing mountain and tired children that have unfortunately come back with us have needed lots of time and attention!

Mr H and I usually go on one sunny holiday a year, its definitely become a annual event for us and we decided to continue it (albeit the things we get up to have dramatically changed… much less beer/cocktail drinking / dancing and adventures ) but we have taken D away before twice and this year off we went with a twoligan and 8 month old on an aeroplane. I’m not going to lie, its not the smoothest thing, dragging children out of bed in the middle of the night, driving for 2 hours, taking them along with 5 billion bags /cots /pushchairs /carseats but it is OH SO worth it. A whole week of pure fun time with ice cream included with every meal!

So here are the holiday extraORDINARY photos…P5182140.jpg

Such a great time in the sunshine, making the best memories full of smiles, ice cream, swimming pools and beaches..

{The Ordinary Moments}#20 ‘Sandy Toes’

Living on the South Coast we are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful sandy beaches. We are also super lucky to have two amazingly loving ( if a little smelly) cocker spaniels so we often go to the beach (Summer or Winter) for walks. Little F has been to the beach lots of times in his little life but this weekend, the sun was finally warm enough for him to sit on the sand, get sandy toes, ( face and mouth also!)

We had a great trip to the beach and it has made us all the more excited for the fact that this week we are off to Barcelona for our holibobs!

Little D is so difficult to photograph, her wild hair (and wild spirit) means its so hard to get a smiley picture, she’s just so busy having fun, far too busy to smile at me! But I will keep on trying….

Poor little Tandy, she’s 10 years young and got ears even Dumbo would be jealous of! Sun, sand and the family, a very ordinary perfect moment.

{The Siblings Project} May 2016

I think these photos are a very true representation of life at the moment, its happened slowly slowly and super fast all at once, I know that sounds mad, but thats how it is when you have a baby, you are so so tired and so so busy that time goes slowly and at lightening speed all at once. Just looking back at a photo from September, when F is just a tiny precious newborn and D still very much a munchkin faced toddler I can see such an enormous difference in the way these two are getting along. All of a sudden we have two miniature people, both needing toys and they are slowly learning to share and play together. They drive each other a little bonkers too, stealing each others toys and Mummy/Daddy cuddles but I can also see what great little playmates they are turning into.

Trying to get a photo with them both smiling is proving to be even more tricky as time goes on, especially when you are on a beach and its VERY windy!

{The Ordinary Moments}#19 ‘A night away’

Little F is 7.5 months now and this weekend marked a new milestone, a night away from him for me. A friends hen do meant a whole Saturday day and night off trying to regain my pre baby drinking abilities ( not working very well) and don’t get me wrong I had a great time but there’s nothing like leaving your babies and husband , and receiving photos like this to make you realise how very lucky you are to have such a gorgeous family. I am now off to bed, as daddy daycare continues and I realise that cocktails, Prosecco, and 3 hours sleep don’t work well with little ones!
