September! Aunty G to stay all month long. The month we gained a 4 year old and a 2 year old! A mad Trolls party at our house in the rain, a family wedding and… More
This month has been a busy one, still feeling all a bit chaotic as staying at Grandpa’s house whilst the extension carries on. This month it reached the stage of looking worse before it could look better!?! No kitchen… a lot of ripped down ceilings, visiting every night and feeling a bit ahhhh about the whole thing…will it ever be finished?!
This month has had its fair share of sunshine, and we managed to time little G’s first holiday with a mad heatwave (which also happened on our Summer get away last year!) and 4 nights in a log cabin in Wales. It took 6 hours to do 3.5 hour journey with a hungry baby that did a poonami in his car seat, and two hungry , tired toddlers who need the toilet ALOT! Having said that we had a MUCH needed break, the children, who have been cooped up in a two bedroom house, had acres of space to run around and we just had some family time to relax…as much as you can with three children under 4!!
This month’s photo is taken in Wales, in the Golf buggy we hired to get about the park we stayed in (most definitely the highlight of the toddler’s holiday!)
This month I am loving steak BBQs cooked by Grandpa, a spacious lodge all for us, a sunny trip to a Welsh beach, an enormous chocolate dessert in Tenby, watching the Hand Maid’s Tale every Sunday, buying the finishing touches for the extension.
Mr H is loving Grandpa’s steak BBQ, cruising around with all of us in the Golf cart, garden time in the sunshine, lazy weekends at the Pub and Park, watching the Hand Maid’s Tale every Sunday and diving D around in a Go Kart, first father days celebrations as a Daddy to three!
Little D is loving the special new car (golf cart) playing at the beach in Wales visiting Folly Farm and driving a Go cart with Daddy, her new Rainbow converse shoes, a pony ride at the local school fair, eating lots of ice cream!
Litte F is loving wearing his sunhat and shouting at at at! Going in the sea at every opportunity! Saying wheeee in the golf cart, eating ice cream (all over his face!) Driving a Digger at Folly Farm with Daddy.
Little G is loving rolling all over the place! His first holiday, a cheeky taste of fromage frais, a ride on a big wheel, growing his hair lots! Chilling in his beach tent.
This month has been a rather crazy one in the Howeshold with our extension build starting at the beginning of the month and us, plus three children, two dogs and a rabbit moving in with Grandpa. It hasn’t been easy, a week of torrential rain and cooped up children missing their toys, and their Mummy and Daddy missing their space has proved difficult. We are SO grateful to have somewhere to live whilst the building goes on, and have an amazing end goal to look forward to but everyday is pretty tough whilst we are not at home. We have been to the theatre to see a toddler’s under the Sea play, which little D and F absolutely loved, visited a fairy festival, been to the beach as a family, Grayson turned 3 months and started baby swimming and we even managed to get the paddling pool out, (when it eventually stopped raining!)
This month’s photo is taken at our building site!
Sitting on the insulation stacked up in the living room whilst visiting the build!
Swimming with Daddy, didn’t even cry for his first dunk!
3 months old, just beginning to sleep through the night sometimes (yes!)
This month I am loving planning all the little bits for the new extension, starting a couch to 5k, a daily Gin and Tonic after giving up breastfeeding, a bit sunshine and beach time!
Mr H is still working toooooo hard, playing hide and seek in the garden with little D, swimming with little F and little G, planning another tattoo!
Little D is loving playing lots with Grandpa, getting her face painted at the fairy festival and at Newquay zoo ( a perfect little penguin), swimming a little without her float in swimming lessons! sleeping in a big single bed at Grandpa’s house
Little F is loving playing outside more, trying to jump in the sea with all his clothes on! learning more and more words, finally not mixing up yes and no! having his face painted for the first time!
Little G is loving being more awake in the day, holding and grabbing at toys, alfresco naps on his playmat on the decking.
This month started feeling a little bit empty with Aunty G going back to Australia. We tried to get out and about lots and managed a yummy breakfast and scooting trip on the Hoe with Grandma and Grandpa, some Easter traditions including little D making an Easter tree and doing some Easter baking (this year F joined in and mostly enjoyed licking the spoon) and an Easter egg hunt in Grandpa’s garden with our cheerio prizes.. (not sure how many more years we will get away with this!) We also made some good use of our annual zoo passes and had a great trip to Paignton Zoo, getting to with all three is becoming (a little?) easier, or perhaps we have just now fully embracing the chaos that is three children under 4! This month we have been anticipating the start of our extension build and moving into Grandpa’s house, all very exciting. Little G has turned 2 months old and is still slotting into our madness perfectly, his little smile lighting up the room.
Our photo this month was taken at the zoo and I absolutely love it!
Fab day at the zoo!
Easter bonnets, baking and hunts!
Little G Fox, 2 months old
This month I am loving planning for the new extension, getting excited about little D’s new rainbow bedroom, seeing the new baby giraffe at the zoo, watching little D’s new swimming lessons, some time with little F at toddler sense, buying a new rabbit hutch
Mr H is still working toooooo hard, helping little D with her Easter Egg clues, going on the Train at the zoo, planning the new kitchen!
Little D is loving scooting all over the place, keeping toys in her scooter bag, watching Paw Patrol and Trolls on repeat! talking about our ‘new house’ wearing her Summer dresses, a Trolls Easter egg from Aunty Claire and some super cool Trolls sun glasses!
Little F is loving playing outside more, outdoor picnics, cars cars cars cars and more cars! a Thomas Easter Egg from Aunty claire
Little G is loving giggling, growing growing growing, starting to sleep a little more, playing with muslins, swinging in his swing chair listening to waterfall noises! Smiling at little D
An amazing bank holiday weekend full of baking, pony riding, egg hunts and roasts. The threenager is obsessed with these Trolls sunglasses and that little man on the right is crazy!! Three children under four is certainly testing, no sleep, a messy house, a washing pile the size of Everest but boy do we have a lot of laughs !
March came and flew by in a complete blur. Partly because of the distinct lack of sleep going on here, and partly due to the surprise visit at the beginning of the month from Aunty G! Nothing quite like the shock when you’ve been surviving on a few hours sleep a night to walk downstairs and find your sister, who is supposed to be at home in Australia, standing in your living room! We had a crazy couple of weeks, filled with the good stuff, good food and good fun. Aunty G became bedtime extraordinary and wayyyy to much takeaway was eaten. Couldn’t have asked for a better couple of weeks to brighten a sleep deprived, very rainy March.
Our photos this month were taken on a trip to the beach with my family, it was a bit of a gloomy day but no rain, which was a rarity this March.
A girls fish and chips trip (boys fast asleep)
Tummy time with little G (those cheeks!)
A new ballet outfit from Grandma
A puppet show by little D
This month I am loving having Aunty G to stay, eating too much takeaway, enjoying fish and chips with both boys asleep (winning!) whole family trips to the beach, little G’s bedside cot, pinning for the new extension, face masks and giggles with aunty G and Mr H, a first mother’s day as mummy to 3 with a beautiful necklace, breakfast and scooting trip on the Hoe
Mr H is loving singing the chicken tikka buna song, eating far too much takeaway with aunty G, doing the assault course with little D at the farm, working too hard
Little D is loving having aunty G to do bath and bedtime stories, loads of treats from Aunty G, Paw Patrol figurines, collecting Trolls and Paw Patrol albums for her sticker book, riding a pony at the farm, writing her own name! Her giant stuffed Poppy Troll from aunty G
Little F is loving playing with new cars from Grandma and Aunty G, hand feeding the goats at the farm, saying ‘wow’ and ‘wheeeeee’, saying thank you and good night, cleaning his teeth and giggling, dancing to Trolls music, playing in the garden sandpit
Little G is loving all the cuddles, listening to white noise at night time, giving little smiles, growing like a weed!
This month’s post is a little late… but not without good reason as on the 1st February we became a family of five! 9 days late and eventually little G arrived at 4:15 pm after A fairly quick labour. So February has been and gone in a flash, full of long sleepless nights, busy busy days which have disappeared in a baby bubble of happiness and exhaustion!!
With our new arrival we have spent a lot of time at home this month trying to adjust to being a family of five with three under four. There’s been the inevitable trips to soft play and for coffee and cake but with a new baby and a rain filled garden there has been lots of sofa time!
Little D has for the most part been a little star with G, having the odd cuddle and being really gentle. Little F, still a baby himself, has not given him too much notice which has made things a little easier. There has been far too much TV time this month and we are looking forward to getting used to our new normal next month and getting out on some more adventures!
This month’s portrait was taken in our living room, where I feel like I’ve spent most of this month!!! I am picturing an out doors spring sunshine shot for March!
This month I’ve been loving being in a newborn baby bubble, staring at the many faces of little G, taking billions of photos of G and trying hard to get lots of sibling photos, eating huge amounts of cheesecake! Window shopping for our new extension.
Mr H is loving all the cheesecake I keep buying, having paternity leave time off, starting swimming lessons againwith little F, making plans for our house extension.
Little D is loving watching Trolls over and over and over again, talking about Trolls! Playing with magnetic letters and spelling all our names, cuddling G before bedtime.
Little f is loving watching Stickman, Room on the Broom and the Gruffalo, getting new cars from Grandma, saying thank you in the cutest voice, getting some more teeth ( finally!)
Little G is loving making his appearance Earthside! Not sleeping at night… swinging every evening in his Joie swing chair, growing like a weed!
So this month’s siblings photo has a very special extra member! Little G kept us waiting and arrived on the 1st of February. He is two weeks old now and Little D has asked to cuddle and kiss him every day. F , still very much a baby himself at 16 months, is just a little apprehensive and not quite sure what to make of his baby brother, although I’m sure with this small age gap they are going to end up being best buddies!
